Steinberg Cubase 7.5.30 + Extra
MixConsole, VariAudio 2.0 and Chord Track were all introduced in Cubase 7, bringing more flexibility and creativity to everyone's workflow. The new features in Cubase 7.5 will compliment and further enhance all these features with new track handling and recording functions, new instruments and VSTi handling options and professional grade effect processors. You will be able to create substitute TrackVersions, have intuitive visual displays of tracks with the new Track Visibility Management System, and create new and exciting sonorous results with Groove Agent SE 4, HALion Sonic SE 2, LoopMash FX and the REVelation reverb, to name a few.
The MixConsole not only offers intuitive controls and a sleek graphical interface, but also incorporates integrated EQ and dynamics channel strip modules which bring professional sonic quality to your productions. The new TrackVersions feature provides an option for you to create, rename and manage different versions of the same track or tracks, while retaining all the settings of the original track or tracks being used.
Instrument (t)rack 2.0 provides multi-outputs and multi-inputs on a per track basis, with the instrument rack and instrument track being nicely amalgamated. HALion Sonic SE 2 delivers a whopping 450 plus new workstation sounds, and the drum sampler Groove Agent SE 4 has 50 plus new kits.
New effects include LoopMash FX which provides modern style breaks, tape-stops and stutters, the new REVelation reverb is an algorithmic reverb that simulates famous hardware effects units accurately, and Magneto 2 adds warmth to your tracks reminiscent of the sound analogue hardware units provide.
Chord track allows for transforming and harmonising functions in terms of chords being used within your project, and Chord Assistant will help with anything from simple Pop chords to more complicated Jazz chords. VariAudio 2.0 will make sure that the correct pitch is always met with your harmonies and provides for simple auto-tuning which is used on a lot of productions these days.
Cubase 7.5 contains an incredible amount of high quality MIDI loops taken from Sequel 3, as well as 60 exclusive MIDI construction kits for HALion Sonic SE 2, Groove Agent SE 4, Retrologue and Padshop. New track and channel visibility management allows for less clutter and better focus on the things you need to see in your arranger window, as well as the MixConsole. The new VST Connect SE 2 allows for collaboration with other producers remotely by providing talkback and chat options, as well as video, audio and MIDI live streaming in real time, truly the way of future collaboration.

Newtone 2 Has been completely re-written with a new analysis and pitch engine for more accuracy, while also brushing up the workflow. Shortcuts & mouse actions now harmonize with FL Studios Piano roll and Playlist, where possible. Most exciting are the new Vibrato and Warp editors. The Vibrato editor allows users to create vibrato effects from scratch with controls including start/end amount and frequency. The editor even detects existing vibrato and displays this value so users can match the singers natural tendency, if desired. The Warp editor is designed to work with mono or polyphonic material and is perfect for slicing and re-timing quantizing drum loops, vocal performances and is great for sounddesign experimentation. Harmor Rising star of the Electro and Dubstep scene, voted in the top 10 plugins of 2013 by MusicRadar readers, now supports Komplexer WT wavetables & 'Map audio regions to keys for sampler like functionality and auto-dump to score for Slicex like drum handling. ZGameEditor Visualizer Based on the free open source ZGameEditor that can be used to create 2D & 3D video game style visualization objects for the plugin. ZGE Visualizer can create real-time or rendered HD video effects in automated or automatic sync with FL Studio projects to support live performances or YouTube videos. Under FL Studio 11 the plugin receives a slew of new shadier modules for stunning HD video effects.

In the MkII all microphone perspectives are included so you can use them one by one, of mix to taste!

The Perspectives

Normally, this isn't the way you would record a classical piece, but you will find that this perspective gives you a great presence and brilliance. Try this version for an in-your-face pop or jazz sound, or for bold and aggressive features. Definitely reach for this version first on a live performance. It has the raw edge needed to cut through a pounding rhythm section, or to back up a powerful vocalist. The more live your playing space, the more likely that the Close Perspective instrument will work for you.

The "medium" perspective is taken using two microphones placed at a moderate distance from the instrument. This perspective works well for both classical and acoustic jazz recordings, where the perception of some room in the tone is desirable. Don't be afraid to try this version in places where you might consider the Close Perspective to be ideal. Sometimes a little distance on the piano can actually make it easier to bring up in the mix. Every mix is different, and the ultimate choice is always going to be a "mix thing."

The "Ambient" perspective is normally the preferred configuration for recording a live classical piano performance, such as a recital. The microphones are placed at a sufficient distance let the tone fully engage the room. You might even say that the room is really the featured player here, as much as the piano. As a player, you are responding as much to the way the instrument is acoustically interacting with the room as you are to the piano itself. You might want to start with this piano if you are seeking to emulate the sound of a piano being played onstage with other instruments. Try it for solo piano work as well. Ultimately, again, only the final mix and mood you're trying to achieve can inform your decision.
