Bazı resmi olmayan kaynakların verdiği bilgiye göre Microsoft, Windows 8 build 7996'in testlerini yapıyor. centrumxp.pl sitesinin paylaştığı bilgilere göre, Windows 8'in Beta 1 versiyonunun tamamlanmasına, minimum 6 hafta, maksimum 3 ay kaldı.
