Çünkü daha önceki sürümlerde bulunan oyunlar, virus tarama programları gibi yararlı araçlar veçok çeşitli temanın aksine Microsoft Plus! for XP'de birkaç ufak eklenti, az sayıda masaüstü teması ve ekran koruyucu geliyor. Ayrıca bu pakette yer alan oyunların ve ses araçlarının da zaten işletim sistemi ile birlikte gelmesi gerekirdi. Aslında benzer araçların web üzerinde tamamen ücretsiz bulunması da mümkün. Dolayısıyla bu ürüne vereceğiniz 40 dolar ile XP'nize anti virüs yazılım gibi bir başka yardımcı araç alabilirsiniz. Plus! sabitdiskinize hiçbir sorun çıkarmadan yükleniyor.
