Description:

The beautiful city of Citta della Ombres is torn to pieces by civil war, its inhabitants do not know the faith. Only songs about the deeds of a person preserve his heritage after death. Mascherines, which give their bearers power over the elements and destructive magic, only pour oil on the fire. It was Masquerins that created a culture of inequality in which all riches and power are in the hands of greedy guilds. The ruling class, the maskerad, owns masks, and commoners, contadans, are forced to live in poverty. The uprising, raised by the contadans, who stole masks from the rich, led to a protracted civil war and a growing distrust between the inhabitants of Chitta. The famous investigator Ombre, Chichero Gavar, was ousted five years ago for a crime. But now he is being summoned to Ombre to uncover the mysterious abduction of diplomat Razitof Azrus. Members of the Masaker join the investigation. The general atmosphere of suspicion prevents associates from trusting one another, and yet they will have to rely on their comrades, because a new conspiracy is ripening in Ombre.
