Along the top are tabs for viewing the pre board, amps, cabs, and post board views. The controls along the bottom are red and black, with the familiar silver, purple, and gold faces on the three amp models, plus very cool knock-off looks for each of the various pedals. With everything right there, easy to find and use, this is an attractive start to the plugin. There are three main amp models to choose from in AmpLion 2 Rock Essentials: The Bartender Deluxe 65, which is a Fender emulation; the Martial 59, a Marshall clone, and the Jukebox 30, which is like a Vox AC30 Top Boost. Each amp model has multiple channels and a very nifty panel switch for looking at mods and options, like the 'Brown Sound.' The Bartender and the Jukebox both have reverb and tremolo built in, and across the bottom is a universal input, output, stereo control, double track, noise gate, and hiss gate. The cab view in AmpLion 2 Rock Essentials has four different cab emulations, including a 1x12 for the Fender, a 2x12 for the Vox, and two 4x12s for the Marshall with Greenback and G12 speaker models. Each cab can be miked up with nine different mics, including SM57, SM7B, e906, MD421, and i5 dynamics, C451, U87 and C414 condensers, and an R-121 ribbon. Each mic can be adjusted for position, distance, level, and pan using knobs or clicking and dragging the mics on the GUI. Size File: 35.8 GB Folk Rock Drops Volume 2 contains 17 drum tracks taking influence from a range of mainly modern folk rock tracks with a few old classics thrown in. The tracks were once again played by Folk Rock drummer Martyn Barker and recorded and mixed by legendary Producer / Engineer Phill Brown. Recorded at the historic Miloco Livingston Studios in London in the brighter sounding live room this kit was close mic'd. The kit used was Martyn's 1980's Gretsch Maple 4416 Kit. The drum tracks take reference from Artists such as Ray La Montagne, Elliot Smith, Bon Iver, Goldfrapp, Little Feat and Bombay Bicycle Club amongst others. Ranging in tempo from 80 BPM to 184 BPM there is a huge range of tracks and grooves to choose from. Six tracks were played with Brushes and two with Hotrods. For the sound Phill Brown (John Martyn, Bob Marley, Rolling Stones, Talk Talk, Led Zeppelin) close mic'd this kit as a contrast to the 5 mic process used on Volume 1. Mics used were classic drum mics - AKG D112 on the Kick, Shure SM57s on the Snare, Sennheiser 421's on the toms, KM84 on the Ride and Hi-Hat, Coles 4038's as overheads and two room mics - a Sony C48 and Neumann U89. These pick up the ambience of the drum room. All of the mics were recorded through the SSL G-Series mic pre's and recorded straight to 2" tape on a Studer A80 with a 16 track headblock before being transferred into Pro Tools. The 1980's Gretsch Maple 4416 Kit consists of a 22" x 16" Kick drum, 10" x 7", 12" x 9" and 13" x 10" Rack Toms and a 16" x 16" Floor Tom. The snares used were a combination of two Ludwig Snares. A Ludwig 400 14" x 5" and Martyn's Ludwig Brass Shell 14" x 6.5". Cymbals used were Zildjian Top Rock 14" Hi-hats, a 20" Rock Ride, an 18" Zildjian Paper Thin Crash and an 18" Plain Paiste Crash. On a number of tracks we added shakers and tambourines. Martyn Barker has had a career playing the drums professionally for over 30 years. He started his career with the band Shriekback and is a busy session drummer recording and touring. Martyn has played for artists such as Martha and Rufus Wainwright, Richard Hawley, Katherine Williams, Lou Reed, Peggy Seeger and he also played drums on Joe Boyd's 'Way To Blue'. All sixteen tracks can be purchased as multi-tracks (unmixed), stems (mixed), drum loop packs or new MP3 practice tracks. The Multi-tracks come as full-length live multi-tracks and song construction loops. The Live Multi-tracks come with a tempo map and OMF file to export into other DAW. We also provide templates for Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Reason, Reaper, Studio One and Ableton Live and the audio comes as 24 Bit WAVs. The Multi-track Song Loops are locked to the beat and cut into song structures such as Intro, chorus, verse, middle 8, Bridge and Outro. The Stems and mix packs which have all the drum parts and percussion as separate stems come as full length 24 bit WAVs and these also come with a tempo map. The Stem and Mix packs also include the song construction loops (but mixed versions). The loop packs contains a number of groove loops (usually about 11 per track) and then a number of fill loops. All of these loops come as the full mix and full mix no percussion (where applicable). They come formatted as 24 bit WAVs, Rex 2 Files and 24 and 16 bit Apple Loops. Ranging in tempo from 74 BPM to 162 BPM there is a huge range of tracks and grooves to choose from. There are a few 3/4 options and a couple of tracks were played with brushes and hotrods. For the sound Phill Brown (John Martyn, Bob Marley, Rolling Stones, Talk Talk, Led Zeppelin) used his years of accumulated knowledge and went back to the time of the 60s when he was based at Olympic Studios. Phill's idea was to create a 1960s drum sound with a modern twist. Instead of positioning the microphones close to the kit he wanted to capture a natural drum sound and record the 'dead' room. He used only five microphones on the kit: one on the kick, the snare, two kit microphones placed around the kit which provide a surprisingly good stereo picture, and a mono overhead. All of the mics were recorded through API mic pre's and recorded straight to 2" tape on a Studer A80 with a 16 track headblock before being transferred into Pro Tools. The kit was recorded in the drier sounding room at Livingston (we saved the liver room for Volume 2 ). Although the sound is controlled it has a great ambience around it. Livingston has been used to record a multitude of hit records over the years and is well known for being one of London's top drum rooms. The kit we used for this was a beautiful vintage 1966 Ludwig Hollywood Kit. It is almost identical to the Super Classic kit which Ringo Starr once used, except it has two rack toms rather than just the one. These are beautiful sounding kits. The snares used were a Ludwig 400 and a 1960s wooden Ludwig Snare. Martyn Barker has had a career playing the drums professionally for over 30 years. He started his career with the band Shriekback and is a busy session drummer recording and touring. Martyn has played for artists such as Martha and Rufus Wainwright, Richard Hawley, Katherine Williams, Lou Reed, Peggy Seeger and he also played drums on Joe Boyd's 'Way To Blue' making him a perfect choice for this album. All sixteen tracks can be purchased as multi- tracks (unmixed), stems (mixed) or drum loop packs. The multi-tracks come with a tempo map and OMF file to export into other DAW. We provide templates for Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Reason, Reaper, Studio One and Ableton Live and the audio comes as 24 Bit WAVs. We also include multi-track loop packs separated into intro, chorus, bridge, verse and outdo. These loops have been locked to the tempo so you can quickly build tracks rather than using the tempo map. The stems and mix packs contain all the drum parts and percussion as separate stems, come as 24 bit WAVs and also include a tempo map. The stem packs also include stem and mix loops chopped into the same song parts as the multi-tracks (intro, chorus, bridge, verse, middle 8 and outro). These can be quickly imported into any DAW to build tracks without a tempo map. The loop packs contain live 4 bar loops in each component stem and a folder of grooves and fills which are 2 bar loops locked to the beat. We have included as many useful loops that we can get from each drum track. The loops come formatted as 24 bit WAVs, Apple Loops (24 bit and 16 bit) and Rex 2 Files.
