Dolayısıyla OpenOffice'i takip eden pek çok kullanıcı bundan böyle yönünü LibreOffice'e doğru kaydırmış görünüyor. LibreOffice Microsoft Office yazılımının yakından bilinen ve çok kullanılan Word, Excel, Power Point, Access gibi araçlarına ücretsiz alternatifler sunuyor. En kullanışlı olan yanı Ücretsiz LibreOffice'in Microsoft Office araçlarının formatlarını destekleyerek pek çok dokümanla kolayca çalışma olanağı sunması. LibreOffice Araçları: Writer: Kapsamlı metin düzenleme editörüyle her tür dokümanı profesyonel şekilde hazırlamak mümkün. Pek çok farklı kullanım için hazır temalar sunan metin editörü, kişiselleştirilmiş temalar hazırlamanıza da olanak sağlar. HTML, PDF, .docx gibi pek çok farklı türde metinler hazırlamak ve düzenlemek mümkündür. Calc: Tablolar hazırlamak, hesaplamalar yapmak, formüller ve fonksiyonlar kullanan tüm ofis çalışanlarının önemli bir yardımcısı olan araç verileri kolayca düzenlemenizi sağlıyor. Microsoft Excel dokümanları için desteği bulunan araçla hazırlanan belgeler XLSX veya PDF formatında kaydedilebiliyor. Impress: Kapsamlı sunumlar hazırlayabilmeniz için hazır temalar sunan araç, farklı efektlerle sunumu canlandırmanıza yardımcı olur. Animasyonlar, 2D ve 3D clip-art'lar, özel geçiş efektleri ve güçlü çizim araçlarını sunumunuza dahil ederek etkileyici sonuçlar almak mümkün. Microsoft PowerPoint desteği sunan araç ile PowerPoint belgelerini açıp düzenleyebilir ve kaydedebilirsiniz. Sunumları SWF formatında kaydetmek de mümkün. Draw: LibreOffice'in resim editörüyle şemalar, grafikler, diagramlar hazırlamak çok kolaylaşacak.
