Note: you must have DWM enabled and be able to use the "Windows Vista Standard" theme, for this to have any effect.

1. Navigate to C:\Windows\resources\themes\Aero\

2. Once there, back-up the Aero.msstyles, by renaming it to Aero.bak, or saving it to a different location.

3. Copy the Aero.msstyles in the downloaded .zip file and place it in the same folder as the previous Aero.msstyles.

4. Open up the "Personalize" window (Right click on desktop > personalize)

5. Click on the "Windows color and appearence link. (If you are using a "Basic" visual style, you will open a "Apparence settings" window

With a list of installed visual styles. If this happens skip to step 7)

6. Click on "Open Classic appearence properties for more color options"

7. Choose "Windows Vista Standard" and click apply

8. Enjoy your transparency and blur!

(If you have performance problems running this, delete the Aero.msstyles you put in the Aero folder, and place the backed up version

back in there. If you changed the file extension, change it to .msstyles, and re=apply the "windows vista standard" visual style.
